I'm a 48 Hour Film Project Winner!

Last night at an Alamo Drafthouse screening of the top ten films, the winners were announced........and our entry won Best Film! But more specifically we/I won best Special Effects as well! We also won Audience Favorite for our group. There was an overwhelmingly supportive response from the crowd when our film faded to credits. In fact, one man sitting a few people down from me screamed out, "You got your winner, right there!" I am so glad I hooked up with Scott Edwards of Edwards Media and Invenio Productions. I would never have been able to achieve this without such a talented team there to help every step of the way. Even though we won, there were many other films I watched last night that were notably well done: The Real Realm, The Withers, Tony 7 and The End. They were all great films that belonged to be right there beside us. I had an awesome experience and can't wait to work on more films in the future.

eyethink joins Invenio Productions in the
48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours. On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Eyethink did the visual FX, some Color Grading and a title sequence for Invenio Production's "No Record". Luckily the genre they pulled was Sci-fi, the perfect genre for VFX! Eyethink was in charge of creating: a virtual television, a fingerprint scanner and floating GUI documents. The first screening was last night and the audience reaction couldn't have been more positive. Hopefully we will make it into the next round and be shown at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar on July 18th! Because the competition is still going, I do not want to post any footage. But if you click the link below, you can see some stills of my VFX work for the film.
